The Japanese Language Proficiency Test - Japan Foundation Manila

The Japanese Language Proficiency Test (New JLPT since 2010 – N1, N2, N3, N4, & N5) – the world’s largest-scale Japanese-Language test,  will be held on Sunday – July 7, 2019; it will commence simultaneously at 1:00 p.m. in four (4) different test sites – at the De La Salle University (DLSU) Taft Ave., Manila, Mindanao Kokusai Daigaku (MKD), Angliongto Ave., Lanang, Davao City, University of San Carlos (Talamban Campus), Nasipit, Talamban, Cebu City and Cagayan de Oro College (Main Campus), Max Suniel Street, Carmen, Cagayan de Oro City , Misamis Oriental.

The JLPT is administered worldwide, by The Japan Foundation in cooperation with other cultural exchange/educational institutions, in order to evaluate and certify the Japanese language proficiency of NON-NATIVE speakers.

Application Procedure

Please be advised that the application procedure has changed since the 2017 July JLPT; for the forthcoming July 7 (Sunday)  JLPT the online application covers Manila, Cebu and Davao. The procedure is divided into two steps as explained here under.

Step 1:

APPLICANTS MUST REGISTER ONLINE from February 6 – March 13, 2019

*Online Application Form will be launched from February 6, and could be accessed at the announcement page of the website of The Japan Foundation, Manila .

Application forms will NOT be accepted after March 13, 2019.

Step 2:

For Individual Applications:

Pay the corresponding registration fee and submit two (2) recent ID size photos (1inch x 1inch) to The Japan Foundation, Manila (JFM) – for applicants in Metro Manila / Luzon or to the Japanese Association Cebu, Inc. – for applicants in Cebu / Visayas or Mindanao Kokusai Daigaku (MKD, Davao City) for applicants in Davao / Mindanao or  Cagayan de Oro College for applicants in Cagayan de Oro City / Mindanao from March 26 – 29, April 1, 2019  / Tuesday to Monday except March  30 (Sat.) & March  31 (Sun.) / (10:00 am – 12:00 noon / 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm), to complete the Application Procedure.

For Group Applications:

The corresponding registration fee will have to be paid from April 3, 4 and 5 at the aforesaid pertinent registration venues; the same procedure applies.

*Applicants will only be officially registered for the July 7, 2019 JLPT after submitting the corresponding payment and (2pcs) I.D. size photos during the payment period.

**Only applicants who have registered online will be accommodated during the payment period.

***In case the applicant is unable to come personally during the payment period, the applicant may have a duly designated representative to complete the registration process

IMPORTANT  NOTICE

The JLPT TEST VOUCHER and a VALID ID CARD are required to be presented on the TEST DAY (Sunday – 7 July 2019) at the designated test site.

Successful examinees will be issued Certificates of Japanese-Language Proficiency by October 2019

All examinees will receive a Score Report.

Results will be available on the JLPT Worldwide Official Website by the last week of August 2019
